It's not my lawn. It's OUR lawn.

It's nothing bad, its just how the LSO's grade each pass a pilot makes at the boat. What exactly this means is way beyond me as of now however. Judging by the context, it's probably worth the wait to hear what it does mean.

I don't know if I want to know...

No, you don't want to know. But having been a RR LSO, even though it's been maybe 27 years since a real LSO graded me, in deference to the real LSOs here, I'll take a stab....Let's see how much I remember (not that I ever had any of these comments ;) )

LOX - Not liquid oxygen, but a "low, overshooting start."

CIM - Not the airport in Columbia, but "climb in the middle."

OCCO - Not Ocho Rio, but I think something about "over-control.....etc. ?"

DCCL - Not hickory, DCCL, dock, but "decel in close" (I think)

WO - WOW! Get rid of that guy! Wave Off!!! Either get it together, get some gas or Bingo. And don't come back tonight.

TWA - Was a proud airline whose pilots and employees were knee-capped and then shit-canned.

[So how'd I do? :D :D]

PS: Oh yeah. If they were cheerleaders, I wouldn't give them any LSO gobbleygook, I'd just give it to them straight in the debrief. ;)

2nd PS: Never mind. :( After re-reading A4s initial post, I finally do get it. But I won't delete my misguided response, and I will stoiclly suffer the shame. So there! :)

Thought of in sexual context, it means start low, climb on, over control back and forth, drift left near the end, and run away......and she may have a fat ass.

Close?

This ain't horseshoes -- but in this case, close counts. :)

You have captured the essence of the "pass" ... :D

That picture gives me the feeling I was born at least 20 years too late. . .missed out on all the fun.

More like 30+ years. Here's the vaunted VX-4 AIM-ACEVAL team in their, well, trop working uniforms at Nellis AFB during height of the USAF-USN JT&E evaluating Tactics and Air-to-Air Missiles for the next generation that followed and beyond. Can anyone spot the infamous Joe "Hoser" Satrapa?

Their brand-new F-14A Tomcats had a helmet mounted sight and paint scheme devised by Hoser and patterned like Heater-Ferris paint scheme
