How do you know how many applied for each option? They don't release those numbers, only the total number of applicants.
My skipper sat the board for the Nukes this year.. He went and talked to the Aviation and they stated the 38 people applied... They needed 20 selects and and 1/5 of the number of selects for alternates.. which would be 4.... so out of 38 applicants.. that's an over 50% select rate. Now how many people do you think applied for pilot (most people think its the most glamorous)? Alot more than the selection rate suggests... So... That and the fact that I'm 27 already with very little transferrable college that I applied for NFO.
