Is there a publicly released schedule of when the test flights occur, or do they keep that quiet for security purposes?

Since I live in Fort Worth, I'd love to know when the F-35 will fly, as I'd like to go watch!

That appears to be one huge engine for that plane, thrust to weight ratio has to be pretty good.

The P+W F135 makes about 40,000 lbs. of thrust. That thing must be some kind of monster.

Here's a video of the F135 being tested. Fast forward to the 2:00 min mark---http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHInTk3gtnc

While I like it, it does look a little chubby from some angles. It's like the fat sister of the F-22.

So you'd rather fly this into the break on a cross country in this thing and strut into the club? I drove by it yesterday (it's on display in petting zoo at Pax) and comments in car were "What were they thinking?" and response was "I'd fly in at night and change my patches before I went to club".

Grumman XF10F, the word "manatee" comes to mind. Sorry MB.
Boeing X-32, "sea cow"...staff the squadron with a bunch of Rosie O'Donnell look-a-likes...battabing!

I would say it's more like the little sister who took the short bus to school. I don't think the 22 is the hottest girl on the block for that matter, but it definitely looks somewhat related; albeit, a little more "special".

haha...HECK NO man, that thing ^ is downright gross. I was just stating the JSF is a little on the chubby side, maybe big-boned would be a little more PC. That thing ^ is just Fat, no way to be nice about it. :D

On a scale of 1-10 in the looks department, I'd definitely give the 22 a 10. She's elegant, sleek, sophisticated, and fast...:tongue2_1

Form over function, or are they one in the same??

What again were the specific reasons we took the Lockheed product over the Boeing? :icon_roll
