Technology is a lever to a better QOL, whether its at work, home, or play. Staying connected and productive means making choices. So this thread is about the gear you use or would recommend. Computers, laptops, eco-systems of gear, phones, services, plans. Stuff thats in your flight bag or briefcase. Gear that allows you to crank out the waves of evals or that post graduate term paper. Or be the ultimate taskmaster during your XO tour. It may or may not include your POS Gov Issue HP laptop - 😋

Post your favs!

Phones and plans. I've been rocking a Google Pixel in one form or another for 5+ years. Paired with Google Fi unlimited plan at $50/month (including international roaming).

I run a fair amount of Apple tech as well as Windows (gov issued laptop) and my Pixel phone integrates perfectly.

The Pixel phones are a tremendous value over an iPhone, genrally procured for under $500 means you wont cry when you break it. Easily repairable.

Google Fi is a Virtual Network Operator and leverages T-Mobile network.

The advent of RCS means the "green vs blue bubble" is largely irrelevant now. And E-Sim makes switching a breeze.

The apps you love are already well supported on Android through Google Play Store.

You need a good mechanical keyboard. If you've never typed on one - you don't know what you are missing.

Highly recommend Keychron. In my case the K3. Wired/Wireless, up to 3 devices (computer, iPad/Phone) at a time. Portable, universal.

My list of tech that I hate would be longer than what I like, but I do like my Surface Pro 8 laptop and I'm also a Google Pixel user. I'm not really a smart phone enthusiast, so to me Pixel is a pretty good value as it's a pretty good smart phone without being ridiculously priced like Apple and Samsung are.
