Wife's First Firearm

We finally made it to Alaska! The wife wasn't interested in having a large pistol for her bear defense, she desired something with a bit more oomph, having been charged by a very large brown bear in the past.

So, I got her one of these, happens to be her first firearm. I picked it up today, installed the pistol grip, and cursed that it was too late to hit the range.

She should like it. The Mossys are great guns, I wouldn't think of having anything less in bear country. I purchased a 590A1 recently and it's one hell of a gun. Firing 3" slugs with the 18" barrel will really put hair on your chest. Of course it is your wife's so that may not the case.
