Who was out doing maneuvers?

Flyer09

Final Select NFO
So on Friday the 23rd I was flying from Raleigh-Durham to Fort Lauderdale. A good portion of that flight is done over water. We where about 25 miles off the coast of Florida, Jacksonville to be more specific when I happened to look out the window and noticed one of our aircraft carriers doing maneuvers. She had a Destroyer trailing 1/2 a mile or so behind her. We were up at 40,000ft so it was impossible to make out a number but it got me thinking. I'm assuming it was the George Bush starting her sea trials but i'm not certain of that.

There are carrier OPAREAs off Jax . . . it's where TRACOM studs usually do initial CQ out of Cecil Field. It might be an OPSEC issue to acknowledge that CVN-XX is currently in them though . . .

It's one of the 11 carriers.

I concur with nittany03. I'm closing it out.
