what's up with using firefox on this site?

Addendum:

Thunderbird ... the Mozilla email program. I don't much care for it --- unless my lack of time trying it is showing. It reminds me more of Outlook Express in terms of funcitonality and options than an improvement over OUTLOOK.

OUTLOOK 2003 is somewhat over the top in terms of "options" to my way of thinking. I mean, how many different ways do you need to send/receive email and check your calendar ??? ... but overall, as usual, it's always a relative thing --- I like OUTLOOK (2003) rather than Thunderbird.

Unless someone can enlighten me ... ??

Just my $5 on top of the $20 I've already spent.

You may be using a bookmark that is no longer functional as John made some changes to the site. Check your links.

No I manually typed in the URL, but oddly enough after I wrote that post the site started working again in Firefox when it hadn't been working for 2 weeks. What happened to the front page that showed the newest posts?

Any of yall ever get this one ... "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system"...?

Seems to happen randomly, without any prior indications.

Yes, one of the several issues I get when trying to run FF on my PC. This is usually after it's crashed.

The PC or Firefox? Because the weird thing is that it seems to happen for no reason ... I'll be browsing online just fine, finish and close it out just as normal, and then randomly it won't want to work later. Bug I guess.

Usually happens when some other plugin crashes (can happen with Windows Media Player plugin) or FF gets unstable for some reason.

Easy fix. CTRL-ALT-DEL, kill Firefox from the process list, launch it again. Fixed.

That's the really weird part, it's not showing up on the process list.

Sure you're not looking under Applications instead? It'll show up as firefox.exe under Processes.

If it isn't... that's just wierd.

I've used Firefox for a couple years now and have never had any problems with it. Usually, as with most computer applications, most problems associated with using said applications can be attibuted to user error.

Alright, I personally like Gator's philosophy the best, nevertheless, against my better judgement, I've decided to give it a try. If I hate it, I'm holding ALL of you responsible.:D

I can guarantee you it's due to a very "unsteady" computer already. I just don't want to reinstall the OS so that I can reinstall the OS a month or so later when Conroe comes out. Like I said earlier, one wrong click to a grown up site, and it was all over.

That falls under my definition of user error.
