OK today I saw an Army and Air Force SGT with SS pins (dolphins)
They weren't prior Navy.

No pic yet, once I get them, I'll post them.

I actually do know a prior bubblehead that went Army NROTC and then to ranger school. It was strange to see him with dolphins right under his jump pin.

Navy Chaplin with Air Force Nav wings.

Army Reserve Major with SWO pin.

They weren't prior Navy.

How did they get them then?

I know this sounds pretty sheltered but:

Today I saw a Navy captain with an ESWS pin and a good conduct ribbon. It actually serves as notice to me that if you want a goal bad enough, nothing is too out of reach.

Well, USN Jet NFOs do the exact same syllabus... +6 weeks of T-2s... as USAF WSOs.

Personally I think I should get some Chair Force wings just for the 'you're my b!tch' factor ;)

The Exchange doesn't really have a rigerous (sic) screening process, you can pretty much buy warfare pin/award that you feel like buying. Of course the MOH is the exception.

Good chance your boys were linguists. I knew an Air Force instructor at Defense Language Institute who had earned his dolphins on some kind of detachment. I admit I was skeptical until I stopped by his office and saw the pics.

Weird stuff:

Army (LTCOL, I believe) doctor, prior SEAL with his pin. Totally legal, just looked weird.

The current surgeon general, npt so much military, but they are a uniformed service. check out his bio

(bit more a badass than ol Koop)

AFROTC Cadets wearing those queer "wings" for getting pilot slots. F-ing embarrassing.

And all along I thought they were bling from old Chevys...

I once saw an Army Specialist's water break on a training exercise at Ft. Benning. The really disturbing part? It was a guy.

(He was role playing a pregnant Iraqi woman. Hilarity ensued. Lots of people running around saying "Dirka, dirka, Mohommed Jihad!" I even have pictures.)

I've often wondered why AFROTC kids on campus are wearing flight suits to class.
