I always went with the Blue Angels Double Dip...fore and aft.

Never got any grief for it.

I saw a SWO once who looked like he had a large manilla envelope on his head...so dorky.

Moxey does like moxey is...doubt anyone gave this icon any grief about tilt of his cover or his choice of insignia

There were lots of variations of covers/style during the war before the era of PC/Thought Police

I personally have the ballcap in the bag, otherwise it's the dip with the khaki's.

So what's the double dip? I only see one in those pics. Also their covers seem to ride a bit lower than mine.

It's got nothing to do w/ the Blues ... it's how you -- Naval Aviators -- wear your khaki NAVY piss-cutter. We always have; we always will ...

The defense rests ...

Schnugg... so what IS a "double dip"? I never saw any pisscutter w/ other than the single dip [aft] in my 22 years. The pisscutter was always my favorite cover with khakis or AWGs, Never saw anyone wear one without a rear dip; therefore, it was never an issue as it seems to be today??? I agree that undipped=dorky...'nuff said. Big Navy should leave our GD traditions alone, already, FADM "BULL" would have gone ballistic if he ran into a cammy-clad, undipped NA in the NX!!!

Simple: a dip at each end. I could never let any part of my cover dangle over the edge like Beetle Bailey. :)

Now to either find a pic or break out my old hat for a photo-ex...

Second from right with no dip? Or was that a rhetorical question?

Yep. Pretty obvious for sharp-eyed observer not thrown by use of Khaki for the USMC cover...
