What does an aviator do?

This site has provided great information on how to become an aviator in the military. My question is: What's an average day like for an aviator in the military once they have completed flight school and are assigned to a squandron. I know the answers will very greatly depending on war time or peace time as well as what you are flying. But, if someone could provide me with a general idea of the tasks an aviator would be responsible for outside of flying that would be great. Thank You.

heh. that deffinitely sounds like my freshman dorm. damn im glad to be done with school, the "roommate talking" thing was annoying as hell :)
