Found a gem (and handed it to my wife saying this was my Christmas present now)at a local thrift store my parents and inlaws drug me to.

Almost new CWP-36 in my size for next to nothing. Worst thing is its got the air force shaped velcro...

Great looking jacket. Any standard Navy patch will cover the AF Velcro. AF has moved entirely to the Massif - the cool kids wear OCP Massif jacket over a standard green flight suit and AF blue standard garrison cap.

The big squares on the shoulders are kinda obtuse, but youre right about the front spots. Its gunna eventually be all decked out with patches, cruise jacket style.

Right shoulder is for unit/squadron, front is for MAJCOM, and left shoulder can be flag or next higher headquarters or wing. With some flexibility on shoulder patches for type aircraft/morale/Friday patches

That makes sense from what I've seen, but never realized there was a convention on how the patches were set up. I'll creep on the hinges and senior hinges who've got them set up where I'm at.

I can always tell what my wife wants to do by the gifts she gets me. This year she got me a cast iron dutch oven and tripod hanging it over a fire, for camping cooking. Very cool.

I think he means that’s how the Air Force does it.

It’s a bit more free form for the Navy, aside from nametag on the left, and then most people choosing to stack squadron patches on the right.

I have deployment/airwing patches on the back, platform specific/weapons school/trap/missile shot patches on the arms, and a random assortment of exercise/det patches on the front. It’s your memento, so be creative. Anyone that wastes time policing patch placement on your nomex isn’t worth grabbing a beer with anyway.
