Tony's in OB (lots of other great ones close by), La Hainas in PB/MB (also a million options), O' Brien's Kearny Mesa, The Field downtown, CBC in Coronado, San Diego Brewing Co (downtown & E. MV), 58 Degrees for wine downtown or Wine Encounter if you want to brave Hillcrest, The Turquoise in La Jolla. Too many to list comprehensively. Holy shit! I'm going to need a stunt liver and a driver next week!

I heard that someone was told "we don't serve your kind here" or words to that effect. SO, they basically said, ok I'll go make this place off limits and keep you from getting navy money.

Never had a bad experience of any sort at CBC in 10+ years (as recently as two weeks ago w/ high & tight and mil ID in hand). I can't imagine an iconic establishment making that kind of statement to Sailors. I'm sure whomever has issues there probably deserved it.

The story involves VERY senior aviators (in Khakis) at a gathering that were told, in no uncertain terms, to move on.
I don't think it was an official off-limits call, just word-of-mouth boycott. I know there was a wetting down moved from there as a result.
