Watch out F-35

Cool...but pricey I imagine, if ever is developed.

ugly s.o.b., it would be like flying a big toe
THIS thing was almost your JSF. Not sure how close the competition was (maybe someone could share that with us) but talk about ugly...

My favorite part about the X-32 is that apparently the developers of Airforce Delta Storm thought the X-32 would be the winner of that competition and put that jet in the game instead of the F-35... I guess it's got a look only the Japanese could love...

IRC, the X-32 was so overweight they had to remove the retractable landing gear and put fixed gear on it just so it could hover. I also remember there were rumors that looks playing a small role in the selection, no one wanted to fly anything that ugly.

Fixed gear, now there's a concept we need to look at going back to....or not.

I was just browsing though youtube and came upon this:

Looks pretty damn stable, even if it does look like the fat girl at the bar.

Here is some more info on it:

I recently heard of that aircraft, solely because it is so notorious for the earmarks and waste associated with it.

"The DP-2 program, funded exclusively through congressional earmarks since 1988, has received more than $63 million. Yet, virtually every technical review of the DP-2 concept since 1986 has found the proposed aircraft to be severely flawed and serious concerns continue to arise about the ability of duPont Aerospace to effectively and safely manage the program."

Sorry, I think it is a complete waste for an aircraft no one seems to want or need.
