Volunteer Work.

Hello again. Anybody know some good places to volunteer? I'm obviously talking about nation wide programs seeing as though hardly any of you guys are from Milwaukee, let alone Wisconsin. I figure it will keep me from getting in trouble and will help with my package down the road...LOL that sounds bad. I mean my BDCP package.

As far as volunteering goes go work for a hostpital. They usually need help and you will really feel like you are making a difference.

You can do what I did, if you have a spare summer, and teach English in Africa... although I haven't been accepted to any programs yet so I can't tell you if it helps the package at all.

The FAA has internships open for college students, if you’re shooting for SNA/NFO that might be a good place to volunteer.

I did the Vol. Firefighter/EMT thing for 6 years in highschool/college. I was able to put it into my package very nicely. And you get to see all the cool stuff that is reported on the news.

I was an EMT before I joined. It's a great thing to do.

I also do Habitat for Humanity. HFH is pretty well spread out all over the country, so you should be able to find a chapter around you. I think that you should also volunteer for some kind of leadership position where you do volunteer.
