F*ckin awesome. Looking at that avenger, am I the only one that feels/wishes that they were born a few generations earlier sometimes?

Granted I wouldn't trade the awesome flight controls or avionics of the Hornet for anything, I would give a left nut to have flown the RA-5C. Sexiest jet to ever fly off a boat IMHO

One njght cat shot/trap in the "Viggie", and you'd be begging for your left 'nad back, 'specially if you were the back-seater! I must admit, it looked like it was rippin' at mach 3, just sitting alongside the Island.

If you want to read a truly epic "Viggie" combat adventure...google LTJG Frank Prendergast (Navy Cross). The only person to successfully escape after being captured in North Vietnam!

Did a lap around the island in the C-9 with the windows open, landed and ran to the top of the Mount, ran back humbled.... one of the most rewarding runs I've ever done. An amazing place.
