vacation days in bdcp

How long can we accumulate vacation days. I've been in for about a year and have almost 30 days. however I dont leave to ocs till 20, aug, 2005. Will I lose these in october and the end of fiscal year?

im not in bdcp (yet..hopefully) but i thought you couldnt use them or accumulate more until after OCS and all that crap... im curious too now, lil help here?

Unless you're in a position where you can't use leave (i.e. deployed to the middle east), I think you'll stop accumulating leave. Check your LES every now and then to see how much you have on the books.

Can you cash out your leave? Like get paid for 2 months and just deduct that from leave?

If you're asking if you can sell your leave, the answer is no (not unless you're getting out of the navy, which is a bad deal anyway, because if you sell 30 days of leave, you'll get one months base pay, if you take 30 days of leave, you'll get a month's base pay, BAH, and BAS). For BDCP, you guys shouldn't worry about these things, since while you're in school, you'll never be in a position to have to drop a leave chit, so if you lose some leave, you'll still come out of OCS with 60 days of leave, which is 52.5 more than I had.

Talk to your OPO, he may let you sell your leave. And like Thisguy said, after OCS we are going to have 60 days on the books... not a bad deal.

I am sure that before your first PCS move, you will be able to take at least 30 days leave to get your stuff together, then you will still have 30 days left on the books.
