Bothered as I am by reusing Missouri (especially since they're in the habit of demoting EVERY battleship to a boomer) when there are quite a few states that haven't been used since World War I era battleships (Delaware, Idaho, Kansas, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Utah, Vermont), I won't be truly incensed until they decide that they're gonna reuse Arizona. Doubt it'll happen, but still.

EDIT: Realizing/remembering that OKLAHOMA and UTAH were also ships at Pearl who were attacked with loss of life, I will add them to the 'I will be incensed' list alongside ARIZONA.

Personally I wouldn't have a problem re-using the Arizona. What better tribute than to have your little brother on the battlefield kicking ass and taking names?

Yeah...16 inch guns to soap on a rope....
You may call me crazy, but if we still had battleships, I'd still be an FC as far as I'm concerned. I don't think becoming an O or flying would have had as much impact as being able to operate those 16" of pure awesomeness.

PS- I like the quote. I tell almost the same joke about herds of goats, just to check for a sense of humor.

Despite having done numerous reenlistments onboard Missouri, I had never actually gone down below until yesterday. Her topsides look great after coming out of the yard (other than the deck, which they're working on) and the spaces down below were interesting to see...basically 1992 frozen in time. Hopefully they can keep her in good shape for another 50 years.

Slightly OT, the USS Alabama is a worthwhile visit for the battleship alone- the airplanes and submarine there make it even better. The 16" guns are almost the same weapons system as the Missouri's.
