USNWC-JPME, JMO questions

Received this email today concerning the 2 week in-residence courses. I had the opportunity of attending 2 of the 3 and they were pretty good deals (both in terms of getting the requirements done faster and the experience of studying at the Naval War College). Left wondering as to why they canx; could be level of interest but my classes seemed to have a good number of students.

"This GovDelivery announces a change to the Naval War College Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) courses.

In May 2017, the Naval War College cancelled the two-week blended in-residence JPME courses available for SELRES: Strategy & War (S&W), Joint Maritime Operations (JMO), and Theater Security Decision Making (TSDM).

Reserve Component personnel can still obtain Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) via the following distance and blended learning programs:

*The Joint and Combined Warfighting School-Hybrid (JCWS-H):

*Army War College Department of Distance Education:

*USMC Command and Staff College (CSC) Blended Seminar Program (BSP):

Air and Command Staff College Distance Education Program:

Navy War College Web-Enabled Program:

*CNRFC application and board selection is required."

I am betting this is to reduce N7 funding for reservists - too bad, it was a good deal. That said, there are still 2 courses (MSOC and MOPC) that are available for reservists. MSOC was a superb course, MOPC came out after I went IRR but I can only surmise it too would be well worth your time.
