Just your annual FYI ... looks like it dropped across the board. Except for Hercs, chopper dudes stand to make the most this year around.

This obviously doesn't apply to me yet, but since you posted it, I thought I should ask.

A. BE COMPLETE WITH THEIR ORIGINAL ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE COMMITMENT (ADSC) INCURRED FOR UNDERGRADUATE AVIATOR TRAINING AND ANY ADDITIONAL OBLIGATION INCURRED FROM THE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, REF B, IF APPLICABLE.

Does this mean that I would need to be finished with my original contract date (pre-wings), or the revised 8-year fixed-wing obligation to be eligible? My contract before wings had put my EAS (according to MOL) around Oct 2010, but now its going to change to somewhere near Aug 2017.

If I finish the RAG in January of 2011 as a Captain, would that fulfill the time requirement, or is it after completion of my first tour? This stuff is pretty greek to me.

Lastly, if I am accepted to the program after the RAG (should that be the case), and qualify for the long-term contract, will I rate the annual payment from that date until my 15 YCS (2011-2021) or is there a cap on how long or an amount they pay out until?

you are eligible for ACP when you are within 1 yr of the completion of your 8 yr contract (or 6 yrs if you fall into that category), which began when you earned your wings.

So if Aug 2017 is 8 yrs after your winging date...you are eligible to request ACP Aug 2016.

EDIT.... (after reading the FY10 MARADMIN) my response was based on previous ACP MARADMINs & is bad gouge... the FY10 MARADMIN states you must be complete with your contract before you can recieve the bonus... that sucks!

Not too bad considering the economy and budget cuts.....

Could be worse.

At the risk of sounding like a wanker, it's depressing to see the bonus amounts going down the sh!tter. When I signed the dotted line, my bonus would've been 150k (25k for 6 years)....now it's looking like 60k (12k for 5 years).....oh - and no more qualifying if you are within 12 months of your current ADSC. Now you can't apply for the bonus unless you will complete your ADSC within the CURRENT FISCAL YEAR. Mine is in Nov '10, so I have to wait for FY'11 guidance to see what I get. Anyone have the over/under on whether or not the bonus will even be there?

Thanks for letting me vent!

Let's see...Take off. AAR. Land. RGR. Take off. AAR. Land. RGR. Take off. Land. RON. Take off. Land. DTS.

Did I miss anything? :D
don't forget to put a cup of coffee and freshly microwaved hot pocket in there somewhere.
