Hello all,

Just took the ASTB this Monday and felt really good. Here are a few questions that did take me off guard.

-What are the designation letters of a nuclear aircraft carrier?
CVN

-What are the conditions for unstable air?
Turbulance with clear visibility

-What radio frequency would you switch to if normal comm was lost?
I think it is 7600 but if thats not correct feel free to correct me.

I studied the "Gouge" from this site and three different Arco books. I'll post my test results some time next week.

Good luck to all those who are studying.

I recall those questions as well Merlin. They took me off guard. If anyone comes across anything they don't understand, feel free to im me. Hopefully I can be of some help.

7600 is what you set the transponder to squawk if you lose comms, yes (though you can't talk over it)

7700 is emergency - like you're crashing emergency
7500 means you are hijacked

its probably a good idea not to accidently hit these when you are doing IFS unless you mean it ;)
