The pizza delivery thing is dumb for 100 reasons.

OSINT =/= finished intelligence

Some OSINT reports are “more better” than others.

I’ve addressed on other platforms, but despite the historical hint of truth in the correlation between pizza orders and impending military action, it was never about the pentagon. It was about both CIA HQ prior to the invasion of Kuwait and then the Whitehouse/EEOB for various events during the Clinton admin. Anyone who has worked at the pentagon understands how impractical it would be to receive a pizza delivery. So yeah, OSINT. Caveat Emptor.

You are absolutely correct. From my time there I can say it wouldn’t be remotely worth the effort to get a pizza into the pentagon.

Well, it is. The food court options shut down around 1530 local, and the only extended-hour place isn’t conducive to feeding lots of people quicky/easily, so there is some utility in ordering out for a large group after-hours, and selecting a food that is cheap, a crowd-pleaser, and requires little cleanup. That said, this Pentagon pizza tracker is also a dumb concept because the perceived “OPSEC issue” could be solved 100 other ways, 50 of which are in the building already, at little cost to DoD.

Also, not sure why the journalist of that article felt the need to mention that Freddie’s Beach Bar is a “straight-friendly gay bar,” how they categorized that, or what that has to do with anything.

This the same DoD that sends ten $60M jets on detachment but won’t pony up funds for printer ink? Yeah, they’re a model for solving simple problems effectively. :p

It’s 2025. If you don’t signal your virtue, you must not have any. ;)

"Hey, sir, I know you miss your glory days of being a guy who's job was to be in front of people, but you're a policy and plans guy now, and we have a world that really need some smart policy and plans from smart folks who have the balls to tell their boss that they're wrong. So let's stop with the CGO bullshit and get back to the office, you have to brief the Senate Armed Services Committee in 30 minutes"

I laughed at this, bc as a skeds/Ops dude it rang true...you've gotten this fucking thing all the way through the sign-off hoops...and then your CO is apparently a volunteer firefighter and had to bounce out before signing this god damn albatross of a process...but cool, I guess he got to pull a cat out of a tree or something.

Please tell me something like that really happened. That would just be amazing.

Did have a Detachment LCPO (Master Chief, at that) who was a volunteer EMT.
