What’s really interesting to me is the use of OSINT and (to some degree) the media that followed the coverage of this conflict. Between the intentionally deceptive use of assets and public messaging to keep everybody guessing, it amazes me what our force is capable of.
It also seems like just two weeks ago nobody knew what a MOP was, last week there were calls for its use, and then it was used. Makes me wonder to what degree the DOD intentionally drives public discussion, or if we simply capitalize on existing public dialogue for tactical advantages.
