It's common in many European cultures for the wedding ring to go on the right. I've seen Americans married to for'ners adopt the right-hand wedding ring convention.
Orthodox Christians usually wear wedding rings on the right hand.

I’m ok with that. I learned long ago that history is a continuum, not a block of time. It is quite possible for something started years ago to come to fruition much later. But I will not one error that should be fixed. I did write ā€œregime changeā€ when in fact I should have written ā€œregime ending.ā€ The basic idea was not to pick a winner, but to ensure a loser.
I agree that the actions that started the regimes fall started during the Obama admin, but disagree that it was some 4D chess move.

Not a 4D chess move, just a plan (that Obama didn’t really like) that came to fruition. I’m good with calling it ā€œluckyā€ but the initial intent was to disrupt and ruin the Assad regime until it collapsed.

It's a military college thing, or at least was. Wearing your class ring on your left hand, usually along with your wedding ring on the outside, was where most military college grads wore their rings up until Vietnam-era or a bit after. You'll see it in a lot of older official pics of Annapolis and West Point grads, but it largely went by the wayside post-Vietnam and not many do it nowadays. Other military school grads from VMI, Citadel and Norwich also did it too but largely went out of fashion around the same time but there are a few who still wear them on the left hand out of 'tradition'. General Caine is a VMI grad and VMI rings, along with Norwich rings, are absurdly huge so wearing his wedding ring on his right may just be practical.

Israel has been claiming that Iran has been close to getting nukes for over two decades now, so I am a little wary to the claims that things have changed much with that more recently. The one big thing that has changed is Israel's willingness to strike its enemies in a more open and conventional manner since Hamas attacked them in October 2023.

Apparently the IAEA reported samples of 83.7% enriched uranium in Fordow in spring of 2023. I’m not a nuclear weapons expert but it seems 80+ % is closer to 90% needed for a nuclear weapon than the 60% that Iran was allegedly aiming to produce there.

One thing I don't get: Iran is saying, "We still have the enriched uranium!" I mean... Other than ego, why would they say that? Given how compromised they've been by Israeli intelligence and given what Trump just did, that just means the Israelis and U.S. will try to destroy or sabotage it. It would make more sense for them to lie and say the enriched uranium was destroyed or just not say anything.

Enriching uranium beyond a stated percentage target is never accidental, due to the long timelines and repeated incremental effort required to separate 235U from 238U.

Their messaging is not meant for us. They have a populous of captives, and have been trying to stave off a revolt for decades now. I think if you view everything they say through that lens, it all makes a lot more sense.

Because when we pulled out of the JCPOA and placed sanctions back on Iran the only real way they had of ā€œretaliationā€ and build back negotiating power was to enrich to 60%. They followed the terms of the deal for a year after the US withdrawal and reimposed sanctions but then started enriching again.
