2024 or 2025 depending on your metric. You aren’t seriously going to suggest that strategies begin and end with each administration, changing all the time…are you?In what year would you say the Asad regime ended?

Who was more responsible for the dissolution of the Soviet Union… Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, or Ronald Reagan? In what year would you say the Asad regime ended?
Well according to ye old googler.🤣Who was more responsible for the dissolution of the Soviet Union… Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, or Ronald Reagan?
That is one of my favorite action movies though I don't think it is very well known.I managed to download the cockpit footage moments before the strike.
It was a rhetorical question. 😉Well according to ye old googler.🤣
According to historical consensus, Ronald Reagan is considered to be the most responsible for the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
Reagan's aggressive foreign policy, including increased military spending and support for anti-communist movements around the world (the Reagan Doctrine), significantly weakened the Soviet economy and its political standing. His rhetoric challenging the Soviet communist ideology also had a powerful psychological impact. While Mikhail Gorbachev's reforms (perestroika and glasnost) within the Soviet Union were crucial in triggering the collapse, Reagan's actions are seen as a key catalyst that created the conditions for the Soviet Union's demise.
Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush were presidents during the later stages of the Cold War's dissolution. Clinton took office after the Soviet Union had already collapsed, and Bush played a significant role in managing the transition and ensuring stability. However, their actions were primarily reactive to the processes already set in motion by Reagan's policies.
My pop-culture, sarcasm, or history sensor is failing me. Context?Do you think they trained for this for two weeks, lead by a combat experienced pilot, only to have no one actually successfully complete the training except the pilot leader? And then went anyway?
They should make a movie about that.

I hear they are both “persona non grata” by Trump.
Man... if this is true, and it wouldn't surprise anyone with a non-sycophantic world view....then yes, by golly....great job! we very well may have a secdef and dni that are being kept out of the planning processes and discussion. bravo, well done indeed... JFC......Also, DNI Gabbard was out of the loop...or maybe she was just on a NG drill weekend and couldn't participate?
Oh boy. I'll put myself in time-out... 😬Top Gun 2
There is an Air Force timeline briefing chart (unclassified) that notes a maritime launch. Also a bit of a historical trivia *if* the EA-18G “Growlers” involved did indeed fly from Nimitz: she was the carrier where the Navy RH-53D helicopters launched during the ill-fated rescue mission “Desert One” for our embassy hostages way back in 1980. For her last combat cruise this would be an interesting mission to bookend the ‘ol operational career..
Edit: I am assuming the “fourth gen” assets quoted as involved in the strike hwere Growlers. Nothing official on that yet, and obviously they could be from an expeditionary squadron. Who knows.
Probably the Vinson based on proximity, last I was tracking the Nimitz was still enroute. Also a bit of a historical trivia *if* the EA-18G “Growlers” involved did indeed fly from Nimitz: she was the carrier where the Navy RH-53D helicopters launched during the ill-fated rescue mission “Desert One” for our embassy hostages way back in 1980.
