I was fliping through a book about destroyers yesterday, and I noticed that some officers were wearing blue coveralls. Do all officers on ships were coveralls now ( or will they)? If so, why the change from kakis?

spidrwmn - Coveralls are one of the many uniforms that officers can wear. The uniform of the day, as specified by each command, can be coveralls, kakis, etc.

Yes, but not on all ships. Each command has their own policy regarding coveralls. Some allow them only to be worn while underway. Some allow them to be worn while in port and underway. It just depends on the CO and XO of the ship.
