But wait...this isn't Skynet at all. All that is happening is the "manned" part of aviation is moving out of the cockpit. What will "suck" is being a UAV pilot deploying and when manups are called away, everyone else goes to the PR shack to gear up and you climb the ladder into a simulator type room in the Hangar bay. There is no artificial intelligence at play per se.

With my luck, even if BDCP takes me next semester, I'll get winged and they'll immediately sit me down in a cubicle, where I will live out the rest of my career flying a UAV.

Then again, that's better than sitting in a cubicle writing TPS reports.

I know some people who work on this program. The technology is incredible and it will be value added to the navy. Other than continually giving them a hard time about "birthing naval aviation's anti-christ," they genuinely are trying to put out a good product.

Next development in the automation of the military will be Terminator-style robots...and I can move directly from playing Counter Strike and Starcraft to controlling these. Woot.
