I wonder if the pilots are going to go back to Brazil. South American ATC must really be something.

I thought the pilots were being held in Brazil since the accident last year.

ATC is a mess in Brazil. The government does not compensate controllers enough and the infrastructure isn't great. Last winter a lot of domestic flights down there did not go anywhere because of the problems in the system, some of which included alleged sabotage.

They were released during the investigation after "promising" to return if called upon.
