Welcome to Thanksgiving travel, folks ...

[FONT=Verdana,Sans-serif]TSA: Pilots to be exempt from some airport checks

[FONT=Verdana,Sans-serif]It's a good thing I'm 'off the line' ... 'cause I'd punch someone out and go to jail. I almost did a couple of years ago ...

My wife & kids will not be flying on an airline for the forseeable future.

Anyone in San Diego want to partner in a GA airplane?

WTF is THIS all about ... ???

If THIS procedure had been in place when I was 'on the line' ... I wouldn't have needed the Curry Chicken/Rice and a Venti Starbuck's to get me from HNL to Tokyo ... !!!

I LOVE YOU TOO CRAZY, G.I. ... !!!

I don't have kids, but I can't imagine the uncontrolled rage I would feel if my government told me my only option to get on an airplane with them was to A. Let some possible perv in another room see a detailed picture of their naked body, or B. let another Walmart Greete...ahem, TSA Agent cop a feel on them. How are TSA agents not getting the living shit stomped out of them the first time they grab some guy's wife's rack?

That bull dyke Janet Napolitano needs to get off her high horse, stop flying around in Uncle's G-V and see how us peons get around. Treat us like criminals and a few more might just start acting that way.

I was talking with some of my fellow airline types. We are going to reject the scanners and if we get the obtrusive pat down, we're going to fart when the are kneeling behind us doing the back of our legs.

Plus there is a cop at every security check point. If they touch our junk, we're going to ask the cop to file a police report for sexual assault. Don't know if the cop will, but we are going to try. Plus we will file a complaint with the TSA supervisor and and our airlines. If the flight gets delayed while we are doing this, well shit happens.

If they scan my underage daughter, I'll ask the cop to file a report for child pornography too.

But I think it is only a matter of time until public opinion forces the TSA to back down or Congress to act. Especially since there are scanners that don't show the body but just show a stick figure with any objects appropriately placed on the stick figure.

DO IT !!!

I did that a couple of times and it worked -- especially when I threatened to shut down a 385 pax flight 'cause I was so 'stressed' by the almost-full-body-cavity-exam ... I would not be safe to fly ... :)

EVERY time I called a 'supe' over (when in uniform) ... it ALWAYS went down in my favor. I called the 'Head-Fed' @ SEA and HNL in advance to respond to 'excesses' on two occasions ... I told them when I would be manning up the next day ... they were present ... the whole thing went down w/out hassle.

We need to KILL the TSA. Whenever, however, ASAP.

You don't screen 'objects' ... you screen PEOPLE.

The wife went through TSA screening at Lindberg last week prior to traveling home for a weekend, and I don't think she had been aware of the new procedures prior to leaving. Commented that she thought that they had found something suspicious on her or about her to be treating her like that, and that she felt like she was about to be handcuffed by the Police or something. Pretty bizarre what has become of air travel, and I'd add that my wife is a pretty easy going person compared to most. Funny, because I went to pick her up when she got back......straight from work, still in bags (yeah I know, sorry), and all I got from the TSA folks was "thanks for your service", vice the horror stories I've heard. Seems like they may have some priorities a little backwards (yes, I am Capt Obvious tonight).

Just got an e-mail from ALPA. Flight crew in uniform are now exempt from the body scanners and enhanced pat-downs. Only the standard metal detector and localized pat of any area the hand-held detector beeps on. Sometime after the first of the year, they will start with a computer data-base that will allow flight crew in uniform to bypass security screening completely.

So now I just have to complain to my Congressman and Senators about my daughter being photgraphed or molested. I've told her to fart too. The kid can really stink if she eats the right foods....

Pilot's in uniform are going to be exempt. You guys are fast!

The airlines will not receive any money from our family in 2011 if this continues for the flying public. The stewardess with the breast prosthetic situation (breast cancer survivor) was another over the top humiliation which didn't need to happen. My 6 year old who is battling leukemia will also not be felt up by a TSA employee and is certainly not going to be exposed to any unnecessary low levels of radiation on my watch. Can you imagine if my son came out of remission a short time after a TSA scan- I can't live with that risk.

And how do you like this, Rumor has it, that the TSA might hand out Exemptions for Muslim women wearing traditional "hijab" *Meanwhile Catholic Nuns are getting felt up wearing their traditional Habits.

Rumors started by some Islamic organization. Not true and the head of the TSA has publically stated there are no "religious exemptions".

Everyone's all pissed off at TSA right now. They'll relax screening requirements, I'm sure. Then in a couple months another member of the Allah fan club will bring a weapon on a plane, and then everyone will bitch at TSA for not doing anything about it. I'm not saying TSA is the greatest organization in the world, but it seems to me they're damned if they do and damned if they don't.
