I know every time I've flown after Mr. Shoe-Bomber, I had to de-shoe.
 
Shoes or no shoes .... the problem could be addressed if we .... PROFILED.

Does anyone honestly believe otherwise ... ???

Technically it WAS "recommended". If you didn't they would swab your shoes with an oxy pad put it in a machine and you were free to go. It was voluntarily giving up your right to shoes that made you de-shoe.
