TS Fay Slams Kite Surfer

I've seen kit surfers out here and them seem to be in some sort of a harness that is attached to the kite.

Too bad he didn't follow all the ORM steps...

You're strapped into the kite, so even if he let go he's still going for a ride. The only way out is to release the safety strap, but when you're being whipped around like that if you haven't practiced it it's going to be tough.
 
Well I hope he recovers too. Otherwise who else is gonna do all those retarded things on videos that end up at break.com?? Oh, right. Thousands of other people....
 
When you kite surf you are hooked up to the kite so when you spill the kite doesn't go bye bye and fly away. What a dumb ass. I do hope he gets better but seriously, WTF?

Another reason why pre-flight briefs are required.
In case of Uncommanded/Premature Take Off- Let Go/Release Harness.
 
I saw this on Fox News this morning. I was like wow that HAS to hurt when he hit the building.

Keep it safe and only fly your cardboard airplanes.
 
I have no sympathy for morons. I feel about as sorry for this guy as I do of a previous Darwin Award winner who tried to rob a soda/vending machine by reaching up into it, and subsequently pulling it over onto himself. It crushed him to death. So sad.

Not saying I don't appreciate the humor these people provide for me.
 
oh man that is awesome. guys got balls. not much in the brains department, but who hasn't done something extremely stupid and gotten away with it every once in a while.
