Hello all, for anyone wondering about the title, there is a new series on hulu/Disney+ that follows a class as they move through advanced and thier struggles with different stages as they work toward getting thier wings. For anyone who has watched it, I was wondering if there is any truth to how informative and lenient the IP’s were during advanced regarding things like unsats and stuff or if it was just for entertainment as ive heard that IPs usually are more quiet and let you make your mistakes to criticize afterward unlike primary. Also what did everyone think of the show in general?

Cool to see Pancake as a skipper. He was a bro LSO instructor when I was a cat-1 stud at 106.


There's a lot of dramatic stuff added for the TV effect. I don't remember the strike pattern hops as being so live or die. Raining blue death was fun- and we did it via manual wire bombing. Honestly the advanced strike phase was the least stressful and most fun for me and most of my friends. We studied our asses off, but we were finally doing the stuff we wanted to do. El Centro is a great place that we all have a special love for.

The computer generated effects are bullshit and don't add anything.

It seems to be a good PR thing, and the flying scenes are pretty good. But it's entertainment, and not indicative of what the training program is really like.
