TMO Question

Im leaving for Pensacola (from Daytona) May 30th and was unable to meet with the TMO down at Patrick AFB. The next open meeting spot was June 5th. I plan on doing a DITY move and the guy at Patrick said I could probably get the stuff done in Pensacola (all the paperwork/money for trailer, miles, etc.). Does anybody have any experience with this and can I get this done in Pensacola or is the only way to get 100% of the 'free' money through the TMO at Patrick?

Personal Property at NAS Pcola should be able to hook you up with the right paperwork etc. if you explain your situation to them after you arrive. I am assuming you're getting a PCS move to Pensacola- otherwise you won't get any DITY cash and your travel claim can't be filed until you get to your primary squadron. (SNA, no PCS to Pcola... SNFO get PCS)

AFAIK, for a full DITY (or as they're called now, Personally Procured Moves) *requires* a brief before you hit the road. At least, that's what Personal Property up here has been telling me.

Also, you can get DITY cash for a TAD move - but only for 600 lbs worth as an O-1.

I think that you have to have some sort of permission/brief prior to a DITY if you want to get paid afterwards. Although JFTR applies to all services each service might get some flexibility in how they execute them. So it's possible that what is true for the AF may not be true for the Navy.

Squroch and HH are correct on this. You need to get a brief from personal property and have estimates for truck/trailer is you're using one, your car registration if you're driving and so forth and so on.

If you're an SNA, you only get certain amount... i think a bit more than the 600 squorch posted, but I dunno. If you're a SNFO, you're reimbursed the whole move to P-cola.

Mules, here's (850-452-3100) the number to NAS P-cola's quarterdeck. They should be able to put you in touch with Personal property on base, Call'em and explain your situation and see what they say.

Cheers,
Bubba
