Just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to earn your wings from the time you start API. Does it depend on any waiting periods you might experience between training stages? What are the differences in time between jets/props/helos? Thanks in advance for the info.

Hey Dan

Click on the Pipelines link in the frame on the left. Just add up the weeks for whichever pipeline and location. The stash time varies so it's pretty hard to time it to the day.

Thanks for the resonse, I guess the real question was what kind of time delays can you expect between API, Primary, Intermediates, and Advanced. Thanks again for the info.

On the high side, expect 21/2 - 3 years for jets. E-2's are about the same as jets. Props, 14-18 months but can be stretched to 2 years. Helos are about the same as props but alot of helo guys who went to primary in Whiting can be done in a year. Most delays are caused by the mere fact of moving between bases. Semper Fi! Frumby

As far as the jet community goes you can expect to spend two - two and a half years in the training command.

I started API in May 2000 and am on track to get winged in the end of April to early May of this year.

The E-2/C-2 pipeling is just a little shorter than the strike pipeline and the helo/prop pipelines are considerably shorter, almost six months shorter.
