This is going to sound stupid...

See, this is where the AF types need to think outside the box and choose option d: Wake said asshat up and drop leaflets...without uncrating them. That way you get the satisfaction of watching Jimmy the Terrorist get smited by a 500 pound box of leaflets falling on him, you save the price of a bomb, and the jerks who come to investigate Jimmy's disappearance have to sift through 500 pounds of leaflets to find his pancaked corpse. Simple really :D.

There's a guy in my class who was first in his class at Ranger School. He did it as part of his summer training. He's the first mid to ever do it. He got his chit to go denied several times though, it took him until 2/C (junior) year here to get it approved. Here's a link to an article about him.

I know a Marine LtCol that went to Ranger school as a mid at the boat school. I don't think that your bud was the first.

Still pretty cool though. Good on him.

Yeah, i think he was just basing it off of what capt. dingman, (the guy quoted in the article) was telling him. Either way, it impresses the hell outta me every time I see that tab.

In the Marine Corps, you don't. Not sure on the navy, but suspect it's the same.

I am pretty sure no for Navy. I know many SEALs go through after BUD/S and they don't wear the patch or the little metal pin version of the patch.

He just wears the little pin on his khakis, but then again, we're allowed to wear all sorts of things they can't out in the fleet, like army air assault pins, and superintendent's list stars, etc...
