I've been out of the loop for quite a while, and I have forgotten or never learned a bunch of stuff that might come in handy.
I start pre-TBS PTAD in a few weeks. I need to know some basics of military life so I don't make a fool of myself.
I have forgotten the 11 General Orders. Should I definatley re-memorize those? Does every Marine in the fleet have them memorized?
I was told to bring PT gear to work. PT gear consists of: green T-shirt(without OCS stenciling), sneakers, and silky green hot pants. Do we still have to were the OCS issue hot pants, or can we do better? Can I bring a pair of basketball shorts, or is that "out of uniform"?
I'm going to use the public bus/subway to get to work. There are a lot of Navy/Air Force O-4's, O-5's, etc... that also take the bus/train. Do I salute them while I'm walking to the bus stop?
If anyone else has some general practice do's/dont's for being a fledling 2LT, don't hesitate speak up.
