I'm not sure where your getting that because that's not what I'm saying at all dude. Also, warzone military actions vs civilian police action against American citizens. That's an important distinction you're ignoring.
I guess we've gone past the logical and pragmatic benefit-of-the-doubt stage. I was attempting to draw an analogy and parallels for those who have to execute time-critical thinking skills and deduce some reasonable explanations from the scenario we were discussing.

These guys on the Delta aircraft looked like normal federal law enforcement in under cover uniforms. Nothing militaristic about it. They nabbed him right after the door open under circumstances that we don't know about. Perhaps take some xanax, and breath a bit - The vast majority of federal, state, and municipal LE are like the rest of us. Everything is going to be okay.

Do you know when the warrant was issued? Inflight perhaps? Before take off? We have no idea.
If the pilot/perp had an inkling he was going to be arrested…is that on the ORM checklist?

He wouldn’t be the first pedophile to decide to finish things on his own terms.

We're also not conducting wartime operations against American citizens. That is a critical distinction.
There are times when the cops need to gear up. I can't see a case in which this is one. Flight risk? He can only run so far, and he can't out-run a radio. Harm to others? With what? He's not carrying.

Also, why is DHS conducting this and not the FBI? Kiddy porn investigations don't seem to fit inside the DHS's scope of operations. That seems more like a DOJ job.
And if they think he's going to do some type of 9/11 attack, why not stop him before he took off?

This screams security theater to me.
It was not a fed investigation. Sheriff's office was investigating sex with a minor for weeks and they asked DHS for an assist.
Another thought, and perhaps the reason for the DHS assist,is that it is possible the pilot was armed,an FFDO, which is a TSA/DHS program.

But was he?
And if he was, why go in when he would be armed? What was SO important to get him right then and there?

Everyone seems to ignore the question I have- why go in when you know you have to gear up? Why take that risk when you can wait for a lower-risk opportunity? LE wants to puff up and show dominance at any chance they get.

I don't hold very many LE folks in high regard. Most of them that I know are folks who wouldn't be allowed in the military because they're too stupid, too fat, or too sexist and racist. It's a low-paying job that attracts the bottom of the barrel, yet they want to be called "Officers".
The true professionals I know want out, or got out, to do other things that pay better.
The stories I hear from some LE folks who are part-timers here make me really glad that I won the birth lottery.

Sorry, don't get the birth lottery reference wrt to your lack of respect for LE.
I'm a middle class, straight, white, man. The police (and the judicial system writ large) definitely treat me, and my wife, differently than they do minorities and those of lower socioeconomic status.

No one has answered my question. "Everyone seems to ignore the question I have- why go in when you know you have to gear up? Why take that risk when you can wait for a lower-risk opportunity?"

And don't give me a hand-waive, bullshit, "well, you don't know so you shouldn't question them" answer.

Thanks. So am I, and I don't have the same opinion of LE as you. I still don't see how your race, sex and economic class negatively effect your respect for LE across the board. You are welcome to your opinion, no matter.

I’ll bite.

How many HVI rollups were direct assaults onto a target, instead of waiting for when the dude might be out walking his pet goat? Out walking his goat would be safer.

It’s because we knew either 100% or damn near 100% where the individual was and we needed to get him. Would you rather go with a 50/50 on the dude’s location or go where you 100% know he is at? And this wasn’t for a parking ticket, dude is a pedophile and deserves to be launched into the sun. I know you know the correct answer.

And 99 times out of 100, violent, swift, overwhelming force wins the day.

You and I can speculate all day why they took him down on the plane versus at the parking lot, etc, but we don’t know what intel they knew.

Your personal opinion of law enforcement colors your position but the reality is that you are taking a wild ass guess as to why the arrested him there. Until you get some accurate gouge, the best advice is to shut the fuck up.

It's how they tell me about how they treat others. How they'll treat me and my neighbors differently because of the neighborhood I live in. How they talk about going to certain neighborhoods. How they treat people who don't look like me, or don't have money like I do, differently in a very negative way.

False. We know where his car was. We know he would walk through the jet bridge.

And also, false on the violent, swift force wins the day. That might work, but it costs 6 Purple Hearts, two Silver Stars and a Navy Cross. Instead, you exercise tactical patience and fight when you don't need to gear up and load for bear.

But keep with the "LE is perfect, and we shouldn't ever question them" mentality. That's really healthy, and doesn't lead to anything bad happening. Nevermind the fact that they work for the people and should be held accountable.

I never said don’t question them, and like you and I, they aren’t perfect. But you don’t know what they knew yet you decide you know what was best for this situation.

Bottom line, continue defending a pedophile by arguing against a swift and decisive arrest. I’ll sit over and and enjoy one less piece of shit being on the street.
