The Saga of N30CV

I don't know if anyone else has been following the N30CV saga that occurred recently in and around KTOR, but it's an amusing and enraging story. I'm not a normal follower of VAS Aviation, but this popped into my feed and generally the channel can provide some interesting and educational video clips of various aeronautical events. This saga is certainly educational...specifically in how to be a douche to pretty much everyone.

The first video is a bit long, but it sets the tone of this guy, trying to get his Citation V into Torrance. The comments are gold, as he gets raked over the coals about how inept he must be if he can't get his Citation on the ground while staying within 3 miles of the airport.

But then it gets better on the second video where he refuses to accept the Brasher warning and just drives off.

And then finally, he's miffed that ATC won't let him depart a couple of days later until he is at least read the Brasher warning.

The second and third videos are pretty short, mercifully. This guy must just be a terrible person to fly with...and probably be around.

Sometimes I wonder if people like him have any awareness whatsoever of how much their existence just makes the world a worse place. Like I’ve had my fair share of bad days, but never once thought to treat a controller in such a manner, over the radio or not.

Good on the controller for doing her best to accommodate. I’d have probably just vectored him into VMC, hit him with the ol’ “Radar service terminated, remain outside the Bravo,” and called it a day.

I agree, that controller was being awesome- I was ready to punch that dude in the face less than 2 minutes in.
