As I recall, we wanted to change the callsign (for Det 2) to Bootlegger. I'm not sure our OIC would have approved.
"I had 3 C-2's taxi with us yesterday at NASNI. "Password" was the callsign. Are those locally based C-2s?
Also, we tried to get out to San Nicolas Island for some patterns, but Beaver completely turned us away. Is it generally difficult to get out to there?"
I've been out there several times for pattern work/approaches....didnt have any trouble, and no prior coordination required. Not sure why you got turned away.

The CO of VAW-120, Dwoo, has his last flight. I've known Dwoo since 1997, was my XO then CO at VRC-30. Good man, good pilot and I wish him well. I believe he was the first COD pilot to be the CO of VAW-120. Dwoo also had many hours in the E-2C and about 300 hours in the F-14A when he was a CAG-5 Paddles.
So... Anyone up for ANOTHER SLEP for the COD?

Good friend is trying to figure out the replacement. As much as I wish they could find a beautiful replacement for the COD it's just not meant for the Osprey or something else. Open back up the line like we all suggested in the 90s and make updated and improved beasts.
Don't bring on the Frankenstein COD either.
By the way Dwoo is why I still flew in the Navy and I owe that man many rounds of beer!

I am wondering if any of you could help me find 3 view spec sheets on the C-2. Years ago they were in the 2-1 manual. I am looking for the ones that have all of the station lines and water lines for the top and side views. I remember there also being pictures of cross sections of the fuselage and nacelles. I also need to know the throws for the control surfaces.
I am in the process of building a 1/8 scale radio controlled C-2. Anything you could come up with would be greatly appreciated.
