Here is a question for the LSO's out there... does this guy seem unusually low or is it just the camera angle?

(picture credited to navy.mil)

Well, the guy in back isn't reaching for the curtain, so I would guess it's OK.:)

I haven't noticed a lot of CAG-5 birds lately so I thought I'd post Diamond 102 show'n some love to Mutha. This was sent to me via "Badger16" but I'm sure he won't mind if I post it.

Vigi parked outside my BOQ room at Boca Chica

Nice photo MB, I've always been a big fan of the "Vig", thought it looked like it was doing Mach. 3 just sitting on the cat. Of course, I didn't have to fly them in combat. The only time I didn't love them, was when I was next in line for launch, with a Vig on the cat in full burner, waiting for the the cat to fire. The JBD didn't quite hack it, and my Scooter did the hula, and the OAT climbed about 40 degrees!

Took mighty fine pre-strike & post-strike BDA photos, though, their loss rate was quite high. At Mach. 2+ over a target, just about any hit even small arms, will tend to overstress the airframe, sometimes leading to total airframe disintegration. Those RVAH Dudes had 'nads of brass!

I'd love to fly one. Land one on a 27C.. Maybe during the day. (I forget, did they go on 27Cs, or were they SuperCarrier only birds?)
