This guy was a one and done. Hit one touch and go, and off he went. Not a great picture, but keeping the thread alive.
Would have loved to do a river run in a P-3 or P-8. Did it in 2007 in a 60 on my 1/c cruise and it was awesome.

Will post better ones later. These just flew over Loch Ness.
In Oct. of 1980, CVN-68 participated in a huge NATO exercise in the North Atlantic. I got to fly a VA-86 A-7E, along with an A-6 from VA-35 and another A-7 from VA-82, on a boondoggle low level all over Scotland. At that time, Scottish airspace below 3000' was designated military airspace, so we could go where ever we wanted - no designated low level routes to stay on. We flew the length of Loch Ness at 100' looking for "Nessie", then landed at RAF Lossiemouth. One of our assigned missions was to land there and ensure all of their support equipment was fully compatible with our aircraft. The Brits treated us to a great meal at their mess, and then we left, flew around Scotland for awhile longer, and then went "bock sheep" to make our recovery time. Somewhere I have slides of the other aircraft over Loch Ness. If I can find them and get them scanned, I'll post them.
