Not to take away the morale of this topic, but did anyone see the Father of the Marine Corps Sergeant, who sadly died, that was on the national news tonite? The Sgt.'s father was being interviewed outside his home when he said the following statement. "I want President Bush to take a long look at this (holding a picture of his son in hand) and realize what he's doing. I want him to think real hard." I was totally shocked at what this man had to say. How dare he say something to slander the President in such way. Here he is, the father of a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, for the lack of a better word "blaming" the President for his son's death. What did he think his son was going to be doing when he signed the dotted line. This man is using his freedom of speech. The very thing that the Iraqi citizens DONT have. If he were in Iraq, he would have been shot on the spot with no questions asked. And with this freedom, he is slamming the President for the death of his son, who provides that very freedom for him to speek in such a way. I'm sorry for bringing this up, but I just couldn't go without venting somewhere. If you (meaning anyone in the US) oppose the war, that's your choice and you have that right, but don't justify death, which is guranteed in war, by blaming our fine leaders who are guiding this FREE country. I'll get off my soap box now, but I would like to know if anyone else saw this. And if you did, what did you think? May God Bless the families and loved ones of the Marines and all the forces fighting to better the world.
