Moderately unrelated, but cool AF fact. One of your cats is getting a full FRS CQ right now and then heading to a boat growler squadron as a first assignment pilot. That's pretty damn cool IMO, don't think that has happened in a very very long time.

I know of a few other civilian instructors in the USAF.

But everyone else is full time as far as I know.

At one time, about three or four years ago, there was a job share position for the DC area National Park Police helicopter pilot. It was split between two “part time” GS-13’s. Not sure why it happened or how long, but it was a good deal for someone!
