Swearing in!

I am swearing in tomorrow (thursday 1pm). I am excited. Recruiter told me to bring my gf but I just want to take my mom with me since she's the one that's gonna have the toughest time when I leave. What can I expect when I'm swearing in? If I heard correctly, I get paid after I swear in? I tried to search... (I think you all put fear into those starting a thread by screaming search function). Anyway thanks for your input.

WRT Pay, I thought the same thing and so did my recruiter. So, I got about 2 months pay while I was goofing off. Then I got sent to Pensacola. Then I got a notice from PSD telling me that I should not have drawn pay until I reported to my first duty station.

yeah you didnt really say what you're getting sworn in for but im pretty sure you're going to be commissioning? It's different for all the paths but you should absolutely start getting paid as soon as you get a rank pinned on.

I am pro-rec SNA and will be swearing in sometime in December. I thought I heard that for individuals in my situation (waiting to go to OCS) that we wouldn't start getting paid until the first day of our travel towards OCS. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

If your still in college and are were selected for BDCP, you should start to get paid as soon as you are sworn in. If not, you shouldn't get paid till reporting to OCS.

I got final select and swearing in to goto OCS, if that clears it up.
