As long as they're engraved, tied in, and inventoried, it's good. They're personal gear. I forgot, but I noticed it again the other night (when my PRC-149 was missing) that there's a small folding knife in our vests w/ our flashlight and radio. Not the best, but yet another thing to hunt/cut stuff with, I guess.

Yeah, after I posted that I realized that as long as it's documented it shouldn't be a problem. Guess I'm just used to people carrying their own to avoid checking out a toolbox.

Hehe...yeah, now that's a different issue. I tend to "find" one on my person when I fly to another island, especially if I'm going to be shutting down.

just out of curiosity..are they switching to the CMU-33 for all airframes? I thought I read somewhere that they were used by Helo crew.
