Can confirm there’s a Greek Orthodox Church in town (a short ways off post) that you can attend during their weekend service while in training (at least, OTCN was letting folks go when I was there). If the Chapel of Hope doesn’t hold a service for your particular faith, you can route an off-post service request through your Class Team. If it’s approved, the Squadron’s Religious Services Officer (RSO) will coordinate your transportation to/from a nearby service if it’s available.

Cards on the table, you and the rest of your class probably won’t be able to attend services the weekend of your arrival (your in-processing schedule’s gonna be nuts), but every weekend thereafter you should be afforded the opportunity to go.

Hey everyone! Was originally told that I would start OCS on November 15th, and just got a call today that I'm shipping out this Friday for 02-27! Kinda freaking out, not gonna lie haha!

I've been working hard to get into better physical shape and been slowing working on Appendix B, but I was definitely planning on having a few more months to prep. I have been taking this seriously though.

If my current PRT scores are in the Excellent low to excellent medium range, how much of a world of hurt am I in for? I've been alternating HIIT workouts and running everyday for about 2 1/2 months now.

Technically you can show up to OCS without having studied anything. It just makes it easier during indoc phase if you’ve memorized your Bravo already. With excellent range scores I’m sure you’ll be alright physically, just try to not get injured.

As a Fleet Applicant who got selected.. How long after getting selected do you get orders to OCS? Does it come from the OCM?

did you ever get orders yet? @denji i'm also wondering the same. no idea on what to expect for the "next step" process

searched but didn't see much - what are the "next steps" for fleet applicants? I'm shipping out on January 24th, & I'm trying to plan early for the move (getting house ready to rent out, seeing family back home, etc).

- I saw one post say we get TAD orders to Newport - I'm assuming our detach date would be just a few days prior to arriving at OCS if this is the case. Do they cut these orders to provide the standard Navy travel time (1 day = 8 hours of driving)?
- If we get PCS orders and not TAD orders, are they cut to allow 30 days in between check-out of previous and check-in to new?
- Last orders question, when do we get these orders?
- Saw a post here inquiring about a single E6 still receiving BAH at Newport and that was the case in 2022 - safe to assume this is still the case now?
- Are we just expected to show up at the gate in Newport and report straight to STUCON the Saturday prior to our class date?

once answered I'd love to make a new post and have it pinned for the future prior folks that may have the same administrative questions
