sTUPID qUESTIONS aBOUT ocs

Is there a story behind this?
There are a million other stories, but a guy in my original OCS class saw the DIs outside his window during check-in and started flexing thinking they either couldn't see him or they wouldn't do anything about it

We left to do some paperwork or whatever and my friend came back to see his room completely trashed and destroyed, but we all knew it was meant for the flexing guy (they messed up the wrong room). That guy ended up DOR'ing anyway

We had a guy in the class behind us watching us practice drill on the grinder from the top floor of Nimitz. Our Gysgt didn't like that and screamed at him to open the window and "Scream aye sir until I get tired!" And we proceeded to practice drill for 15 minutes while this poor guy who on his 2nd day was trying his best to simultaneously break our eardrums while holding a heavy window open with his head stuck out of it. That was hard not to laugh at.

I'm currently active duty and having a hard time finding if there is a requirement for applying to OCS prior to PRD. Ex. If my PRD is in less than 12 months, can I apply? or EAOS?

Are you from 01 by any chance?

Hypothetically, if a board gives you a Prorec-Y but assigns you an OCS date before you graduate, will they just move your date to a later time? Could this require more than informing the people in charge, e.g. an entire packet resubmission?

Waiting to hear back from my recruiter, just wanted some input if anyone here has experienced this. (My graduation date [Fall '26] and degree plan should all be correctly submitted with my application).

No. That is why you list your availability on the application.

In your opinion, am I screwed, or is pushing back my OCS date a reasonable request in this case? I've read that it's typically fine as long as you've got a solid reason. All I recall is putting my earliest availability in the BDCP application for right after my degree completion... Dec 2026.

It’s expected that you are able to ship relatively soon after graduation, since the Navy is paying you and all. January 2027 should be your availability.
