Quick question, currently active duty in Virginia Beach. Going to OCS in 2026 for SNA. After OCS graduation, what has been the average timeline between graduation and checking in at Pensacola? Reason I ask is I’ll have to go back to Virginia Beach to pack up the family and come down. One week? Two?
iirc, the people from my class who got their orders before graduation had to check in by the following Tuesday if they didn't want to use any leave; Friday was their last day to check in after graduation. I didn't get my orders until after graduation so my orders said something else

Hey everyone, just going to give some background on myself before i ask a question. I am an E5 with 4 years in the Navy. I have one NAM, couple months from my Information Technology Bachelors (BS), ASTB: 52, 7/9/8, all my evals are good, recommendations from 2 CAGs and a 1 star admiral. (I plan on putting in a package for the October cycle)

Context on the IW pin for my command: My command does not have the IW program, but I used to work for my command at a different command's building and i was allowed to piggyback off their new program. I am literally in the first group going up for the pin in this commands history. So here is where it gets complicated, my command moved where i worked so now im 45 min at best away from the command im piggybacking off of and all the study material except for a couple things cannot leave that building. So with all of that my question is how much would an Information warfare pin help my package? Do i need to have it? will it make or break my package?
