...from what I've read most NSAs go straight to Pensacola while they wait to start school instead of working at their local recruitment center. If that's the case, how does getting set up with a rental unit typically work
It's about a week and some change. They build up to the next eventIs this all in one go or over a day or many days?
Ok, thanks! It’s quite a bit haha, depending on how much time you have to prepare, break down each section (ships, aircraft, weapon systems, ETC.) and spend a week memorizing it. Just don’t forget to quiz yourself on the previously learned knowledge to make sure you really have it down.I am wondering how you prepare for appendix D. The weapon systems, platforms, etc—too much information.
The drill has videos on YT.
You can wear thin ribbons. We didn't wear medals, you can bring them just in case I guess. For priors going to OCS are we authorized to bring our three sets of thin ribbons/medals?
Thanks!! Just wanted to bring my sets for my uniforms. You can wear thin ribbons. We didn't wear medals, you can bring them just in case I guess.
I hadn't looked at any Bravo, Charlie, or Delta knowledge before OCS. You just gotta be studying whenever you can: standing in line for chow hall, waiting around for the next event to happen, literally every free minute and it slowly comes together.I am wondering how you prepare for appendix D. D knowledge just has to be working knowledge, not necessarily verbatim like B and C. Appendix D comes up during OPI in SOC phase when all the officers start quizzing you on what the Navy's platforms can do.Ok, thanks! Thanks for the info. I wasn’t aware that the questions could vary that much between individual inspecting officers and that the questions could exist outside of the OCR, I appreciate it.D knowledge just has to be working knowledge, not necessarily verbatim like B and C. It also helps to know what each officer does/did in their respective communities. My inspector was a P8 guy so we talked about what it could do and what tools it had available and why it had them. Another officer was a SWO on minesweepers and he'd usually ask people why they were made with wooden hulls; that was knowledge we had to ask around for since our knowledge books didn't say why
In hindsight, was there anything you wish you could've prepared for to make your experience easier?I hadn't looked at any Bravo, Charlie, or Delta knowledge before OCS.
