I'm not AF, but I **UNFORTUNATELY** opted to go there

Why the hell would you want to subject yourself to that kind of torture? Good luck man.

Maybe this individual likes ironing his/her flight suit and being locked in a study room for 12 hours a day? Oh, and then there's "standup". No, not the phat jam by ludacris, although the practice DOES seem ludicrous. HA! Who said Marines were dumb!??!?!? I...am...the...Pun...MASTER!

awww come on zab, that's all the gouge there is? This doesn't look promising. I was hoping there might be someone at Vance now who's got some stuff that they're willing to send me or email me. Don't the Air Force guys pass around gouge as well? Do a lot of SNAs attrite there...moreso than in Corpus or Whiting?

Don't blame me for some other site's gouge supply. there's a whole message board to search over there and I know they have T-37 gouge links. Good luck.

A month later if anyone still cares.
The best gouge I got right before starting on what to study was:

1. Procedures.
2. Course Rules.
3. EP's.
4. Systems.

Study them in that order. If you can't do the basic procedures of flying what good are course rules and if you don't know where you're going whats an EP going to do. Finally, I'd rather know how to do a HAPL than the answer to "why's the battery pink."

I'd say EPs AFTER systems. EPs are near useless if you don't even know why you're doing what your'e doing.

So just a quick question they I know has been covered but what is the first subject that you are tested on during ground school at primary or at least what is the building block subject that I can study for the next two weeks so I can start primary off strong.

Systems. Easy test. Helps to know the stuff before, though, so good idea. However, 2 weeks of studying systems is WAY overboard. MAYBE 2 days, or if you're like me, 2 hours. I still aced the test. It was simple. Get EP's and course rules cold, if anything.

Just to clarify...if you are an SNFO your first test at Primary will be METRO. The next three are Systems, EP's, and NATOPS. Thought I'd point that out since this thread is in the Primary forum and could apply to SNA's and FO's alike.

No idea what the first test for SNA Primary is.

Best advice...party until you get it out of your system so then it is much easier to focus when the time comes....one thing about going out alot early on...is that you will start to get bored of it sometimes....that is the time to study...then with studying sucks....go out. Repeat until you start training. There will definitly be times in training where you will be couped up for a month with out drinking a whole lot....and you will need to get out one weekend just to let loose. Then, for me anyway, its easier to concentrate after a great weekend because you let it all out....and its time to get back to work again!
