Straits of Magellan, Easter Island

Last month I did 2 dets, one to the tip of South America (Straits of Magellen, Cape Horn) and one to Easter Island. The Straits are way cold, siberia style tundra, but beautiful. Easter Island reminded me of an undeveloped Guam. Also gorgeous. Here's some pics.

(Also did touch and go's/full stops on a 4000 foot runway. For you non Orion types, the minimum for USN for tng's is 6000 feet. Hooray for refusal speed and beta)

Beautiful. I have to ask...what time of day was that second pic w/ the sun taken? I'm guessing probably about noon, but it looks like it's about an hour before a "normal" sunset time.
